Beautiful Disaster - Jamie McGuire

Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1)Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Okay, have you ever wanted to slam your head into a wall for making a bad decision?  Throughout this entire book I fought with wanting to throw it across the room or finish reading... I chose to read it, the characters were over the top, I agree with comments that state the book is offensive to women.  I am not sure what all the hype is about... The reading is fast paced and easy to follow.

I thought both characters needed more descriptions, the epilogue is where I read that Travis was bald... WHAT??  Ok, obviously Jamie McGuire wanted to make Travis over the top, but sleeping around with random girls (bagging them on his couch), getting in unrealistic fights and winning (beating up mob bouncers), having a terrible stalker attitude (refers to self as stalker), breaking things, terrorizing people, do not make a man crush for me...Yuck!  I wanted to scream at Abby for being so into Travis.

Abby did not have many great qualities either, all we know is that she's attractive, has some sort of secret history, and she doesn't have much of a personality.  I felt that Jamie McGuire was still trying to build Abby's personality throughout the entire book and I felt no depth or connection to her.  She just annoyed me, she was naive and smart, a walking contradiction.

Just all around weird book... I didn't like it, but I couldn't put it down.

Ephemeral - Addison Moore

Ephemeral (The Countenance, #1)Ephemeral by Addison Moore

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Stopped at 39%.  I did not like Laken, the plot and storyline was overly complicated and confusing.  The girls were obnoxious, I couldn't relate to any of the characters.  This book glorified cheating boys and the need to win back their love.  Just wow... I don't even know.  I tried so hard to finish this book.

Ruin - Rachel Van Dyken

RuinRuin by Rachel Van Dyken

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I bought this book because it was recommended by Amazon as a book I might like, the 5 star reviews sold me on it... I have only ever given maybe 1-2 (if that) 1 star review, and I hate giving poor reviews.

Okay, honestly, Kiersten is socially awkward to the point it is painful.  Her roommate makes it slightly more bearable.  Then you add in the roommates strangely over protective cousin.  This is Kiersten's posse.  Kiersten meets Wes, cliche popular and rich college football quarterback.  Their conversations were so awkward it made me uncomfortable to even read them.  I didn't understand any of their relationship or why the attraction was so strong.  Kiersten was weird and Wes was like a stalker (even referred to himself as one)...

I got almost halfway through this book, I forced myself to keep reading, but once I hit that spot around halfway I just couldn't do it.  I didn't believe the relationships, the dialogue and script was extremely basic, there was no depth to anyone or the story.  Just weird in my opinion and not for me.

Smash Into You - Shelly Crane

I just want to say Shelly Crane is amazing, read all of her books... They will suck you in!

Smash Into YouSmash Into You by Shelly Crane

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Here's why I love Shelly Crane... within the first page of a book I know if I want to read it or not, her books come off strong and addictive, they captivate you from the start and keep your attention through to the end.  This book was a fantastic and fast read.  Jude is a young guy on the run from "Biloxi" for reasons unknown.  He meets Marley a girl with her own problems, they were meant to cross paths and their story is unique and real, it's raw.  I loved these two characters together, the plot was great, the depth was real.

I read it in a day and can't wait to see what Shelly puts out next.  A great read!

Forever Too Far - Abbi Glines

Forever Too Far (Rosemary Beach, #4)Forever Too Far by Abbi Glines

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

So I loved the first two books, couldn't put them down.  I was so disappointed in this one!  It took me weeks to get through... Abbi Glines is an amazing author no doubt.  I feel like this book lacked any depth and was just written to get readers interested in the Woods/Della and Grant/Harlow series coming out.  There was a lot of action going on with these other couples to kind of grab your attention and I really want to read the Woods series now but that's all I got out of this book.  I'm so happy Rush and Blaire got their happily ever after but didn't really see a need for this one.

Never Too Far - Abbi Glines

Never Too Far (Too Far, #2)Never Too Far by Abbi Glines

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I literally couldn't put the book down.  I read it over the course of a few hours, completely abandoning my children for the day.  I'm really addicted to these characters so I'm sad it ends after Forever Too Far.

Okay, so this book has both Blaire and Rush POVs.  It starts with Blaire back in Alabama and she ends up deciding to go back to Florida.  She doesn't want to but she has to do what is best for her and we all know Woods and the boys pay well at the country club so she can save up money fast!  She's determined to stay away from Rush but he is determined to rush in (pun intended) and make her love him.

Rush is like perfect amazing swoon boyfriend in this book... He messes up a few times but he's quick to beg for forgiveness.  He gets torn between his family and Blaire... but YOU WILL FALL FOR HIM if you haven't already.  He's just perfect in this book.  Abbi Glines can do one thing really well and that's make you swoon over a bad boy.

Fallen Too Far - Abbi Glines

Why did I wait so long to read this?

Fallen Too Far (Too Far, #1)Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So I wanted something different than the common paranormal, more mature than a YA, and a bit more young adult than 50 Shades (I read all of these types of books)... This fit the bill.  Blaire is 19 and Rush is 24... I honestly didn't care for Rush in the beginning but started falling for him when Blaire did.

There's sexual content, it's graphic!  I hadn't been expecting that.  The story was really good though and Abbi Glines knows romance!  Blaire is your typical hurt and sad "poor girl" working her way through life with the hands she's dealt.  Rush is your typical pretty, privileged, work for nothing, "rich boy" that's used to getting whatever he wants.

This book was super addictive, I read it in a day and eagerly bought number 2 and am almost finished with that one!  Yes the storyline is the typical rich boy falling for the poor girl.  These types of books sell though and if there's nothing wrong, don't change it.  The plot thickens and there is a storyline that's more complicated added to the basic concept.

Not the most in depth but I give it 5 stars because of the addiction factor... good easy quick read for someone who wants to take their mind of things for a few hours!

Incendiary - Amy Bartol

Incendiary (The Premonition, #4)Incendiary by Amy A. Bartol

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I'm a big fan of the series, I devoured the first three books. It took me awhile to get into this one. I'm with the minority here but I think there was good and bad in this book. I'll start with the good, there were new characters added including someone for Russell which I had been hoping for. We get to know Evie's dad and his entourage. Brennus makes a good villain and the love story between Evie and Reed is good as we all love Reed by this point!

What I didn't like... This seemed to be a repeat of past books. Nothing new happens it's Brennus trying to get to Evie as always. Zee, Buns, and Brownie were barely in this book and those are characters I've come to love. There were times when I thought Reed could easily kill Brennus but instead it would turn to dialogue between the two and nothing was accomplished. Another man is thrown into the love quadrangle or whatever you want to call it... Xavier. Evie has enough love interests between Reed, Russell, and Brennus. She doesn't need another man to complicate the story. We are all Reed fans!

I just felt this book was a "filler" novel. It didn't bring anything new or substantial. I will read the final book because I am a fan of the series and I'm hoping for an excellent ending.

Between The Lines - Tamara Webber

Between the Lines (Between the Lines, #1)Between the Lines by Tammara Webber

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love the world that Tamara Webber built in Between The Lines.  The lives of celebrities has always fascinated me, I pick up tabloids on a frequent basis.  This was a first hand look at Hollywood bad-boy and heartthrob Reid Alexander.  It's everything you would expect of a celebrity, drinking, partying, PR, girls, hookups, paparazzi...

Then you have good girl Emma Walker who gets selected to play opposite Reid in a new blockbuster hit movie.  She was a really great character.  Down to earth and fun, good personality, and sweet.  I enjoyed the relationship and chemistry between these two!  There's other characters who were just as important including Brooke (Reid's ex), and Graham (another actor)...

Emma's best friend Emily was a great add, they had an amazing friendship.

There's drama, partying, sex, and drugs as we take a look at the lives of the rich and fabulous celebrities!  I recommend this for a fun easy read.

Faceless - Jus Accardo

Faceless (Denazen #2.5)Faceless by Jus Accardo

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

First line: My name is Brandt Cross, and I once ate a caterpillar on a dare...

I love the Denzazen books, and decide to read Faceless (#2.5) before reading the final book!  I've always enjoyed Brandt's character and the soul jumping aspect is cool.  I was pretty bored by the book up until about 15-20% on my kindle.  I almost quit reading it but it got much better when introduced to a new character named Wentz.  He stole the story for me!

Brandt is a really nice guy with a ton of emotional baggage.  His love interest Devin was also just a nice girl.  Their characters didn't really stand out which is why I'm sure Dez & Kale are the characters behind the real story and these are the extras.  I enjoyed reading about them but am happier to be reading the final book in the series as I've missed the stand out characters!

If you are a fan of the series, check it out, it's fun reading about different sixes and their abilities.  The book wasn't my favorite but it will keep you interested.

Sweet Peril - Wendy Higgins

Sweet Peril (The Sweet Trilogy, #2)Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can I start off by saying I have a major author crush on Wendy Higgins?  This series is quickly becoming a favorite of mine!  I'm totally addicted!  I LOVE Anna and her whole group of Neph friends.  Kaiden and Anna have the hottest chemistry I've read in awhile!  Kope is a stud and Blake, Marna, and Ginger crack me up!  I absolutely have fallen in love with this group!

So back to the book, there's a lot of action and just when you want to give up on romance you see some!  Anna's dad makes a lot of appearances, sweet Patti makes everyone sweet tea, and Anna turns 18 so you see quite a bit of her on her own and we get to see the decisions she makes and how she grows and helps those around her.

Is it weird that I like the Dukes too?  In a bad way of course but the author writes them in an engaging way and it's fun to watch them interact.  We also meet some new Nephs including a girl named Zania and a guy named Flynn.  There's danger all around and almost everyone is "working" in this book...  :)

This book has some really great love scenes and the action is awesome.  There's so much sexual chemistry and tension between Anna and Kaiden it will definitely leave you wanting more!  Sweet Peril leaves you in the perfect set up for book 3.  I will eagerly anticipate it.

Chosen At Nightfall - CC Hunter - Shadow Falls

Chosen at Nightfall (Shadow Falls, #5)Chosen at Nightfall by C.C. Hunter

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you are reading reviews you are a fan of the Shadow Falls series already...  This book was the final in the series even though it looks like Della is getting a series next!  I loved the ending, CC Hunter leaves no loose ends and ties everything together perfectly.

You finally find out who Kylie chooses to be with, there's fun surprises with Holiday and even Kylie's family.  The book keeps you on your toes and the ghost in it is by far my favorite!  I will definitely miss Miranda, Della, Holiday, Burnett, Kylie, Derek, Lucas, and even Perry.  I'm sad to see the series end but as far as series finales this one is one of my favorites.

Wide Awake - Shelly Crane

GAH I LOVE SHELLY CRANE!

Wide AwakeWide Awake by Shelly Crane

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Read this in 48 hours because I could NOT put it down...  I went to bed after 2 am just to find myself thinking about it when I woke up at 6 am!  I love the world Shelly Crane builds in her books... her characters are so loveable.

I recently finished the Significance series and had this one my Kindle since it came out but just got around to reading it!  I'm so glad I did!  The main character is Emma who wakes up from a coma and no clue who the privileged teen is staring back at her in the mirror.  She has amnesia, a connection to her therapist, a meat-head boyfriend, uptight parents, and no idea who she is.

Shelly Crane amazed me with this book because it blew me away after it sucked me in!  The world of who Emma was supposed to be and who she was before her amnesia was so vivid.  She was an awful brat!  Even she can tell!  I loved how real Emma felt and she was so easy to connect with!  She was so down to earth, disgusted with herself, and real.  She has lots of emotion and she was so likeable.

Miss Crane writes excellent novels that draw you in and creates a world that you don't want to leave when it's over.  All I have to say is wow and I'm so excited to see what's next!!!

Independence - Shelly Crane - Significance Series

Independence (Significance, #4)Independence by Shelly Crane

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gah I love these characters and I'm really going to miss the world Shelly Crane took me to in the Significance series...

So I love this series and this book is one that will suck you in right away just like the rest!  I LOVE Maggie & Caleb's chemistry and the entire Jacobson clan... especially feisty Gran and sweet Rachel!

This whole series is a feel good romantic fall in love series.  You are left happy and full.  I loved this series as it was a true escape into another world where I wouldn't mind spending my time.

There was action, romance, and lots of laughs in this one!  I teared up a couple of times as well!  You get to know Haddock, there's a lot going on with Marcus, also we see how all of the visions play out.

I just love this series, I'm glad Significance is being made into a movie and I thank Shelly Crane for being such an amazing author!  This book just tugs at your heart strings and makes you feel good.

Specials - Scott Westerfeld

Specials (Uglies, #3)Specials by Scott Westerfeld

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

So this was my least favorite in the trilogy.  I am excited to read about someone new in Extras.  In this book Tally and her friends are Specials, not just Specials but Special Specials... Cutters.  They are a new breed of Specials.  They are on a mission to take out the rebels of the New Smoke!

Tally was pretty awful during this book, her character was that of Dr. Cable's doing but still, I didn't like her or identify with her until the end.  She was so different and I guess the author did a good job of making me dislike her character.  I was glad to see more of David in this one and how the New Smoke was revolutionizing the "world."

Andrew Simpson Smith even makes a quick cameo!

The book was fast paced, a lot of it was action packed.  There wasn't really a dull moment but with all the action a lot of the thinking, conversations, and world that I liked in Uglies and Pretties faded away.

I'm glad I got some closure as to what happens and I liked the ending.  It suited Tally and the series.

Pretties - Scott Westerfeld

Pretties (Uglies, #2)Pretties by Scott Westerfeld

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Better than book 1!

So sequels don't always do it for me, a lot of time they are full of fluff.  This may have had fluff but it was "bubbly" fluff!  Obviously if you read book one you know this will start with Tally being pretty, she had the operation so she's pretty on the outside and pretty-minded on the inside!  She's changed so much, her and Shay are besties and life is "bubbly."  I caught on to New Pretty lingo pretty quickly there's only a handful of words they use a lot.

She is in a new pretty haze for awhile so we do get to see the new pretty lifestyle!  Peris is in this, Shay, and some new characters Zane and Fausto.

This book is "sectioned" off.  At one point Tally is completely alone and meets up with what can be described as the research for the operation which is was probably one of my favorite parts of the book!  The tribe welcomes her and Andrew Simpson Smith is a really fun character.

This book is definitely all about the cure!  We do see David and I almost cried at their confrontation!  The surprise at the end of this one is probably as big as the surprise at the end of The Uglies.  It's definitely a game changer and I'm really excited to see how this turn out for Tally.

Uglies - Scott Westerfeld

Uglies (Uglies, #1)Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love the concept and the world built by Scott Westerfeld!

SO, where do I begin?  What are Uglies?  They are normal people... what????  Yes normal people are considered uglies until they have an operation when they turn 16 that turns them all beautiful.  They are warded off to live with other uglies until the operation and then once the operation hits they move to New Pretty Town and party all the time.

Tally is the heroine whom the story revolves around and she is an ugly almost 16.  She befriends Shay who tells her of a place where you don't have to be beautiful, you can stay ugly.  Tally wants to have the operation and go see her old best friend Peris and party until sunrise.  She does NOT want to be ugly.  She and Shay pull pranks and become fast friends.  Shay tells her of the Smoke where the "rebel" people live.  These are just normal uglies who did not have the operation.  Tally can't imagine anything as awful as this so she lets Shay go on her own...

Too bad she didn't realize the consequences of letting Shay go to the Smoke and staying behind so she can become Pretty.  All I will say is that her punishment for not giving up Shay is an ugly one.

I wont give anything away, it's definitely a new spin on a typical Dystopian novel.  The world that Scott Westerfeld has built between the New Pretty Town, The Smoke, Ugly City, Special Circumstances, The Rusties, all of the inventions we use today and the new ones of the future is absolutely stunning.  I can imagine this in a film with beautiful cinematography.  There's a huge twist at the end which makes me desperate to see what happens in book 2 Pretties.  Definitely a well thought out book and concept with a great spin that will leave your imagination to go run wild!

Shattered Souls - Mary Lindsey

Shattered Souls (Souls #1)Shattered Souls by Mary Lindsey

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Okay so the book involves ghosts, reincarnation, exorcisms, soul-sharing, and unrequited love!  What more could I want???

I did think some of the names were odd but I got past that!  Lenzi is the main character and strange things happen around her birthday, which is when she meets Alden our swoony hero!  I really liked both of their characters they were strong throughout the entire book.  Lenzi especially.  Her personality was strong willed and she was different from most wimpy heroines we usually read about!

I liked Alden, Race, and Maddi.  I hear there are more books coming out and I'm hoping we get to see more glimpses of the past as well as romance, action, a finale with Smith, and more in depth time with the other characters who all were well developed and likeable/relatable.

I seriously read this in 2 days and loved it.  I can't wait to read more.  There's action, it's gruesome, there's blood, there's romance, it has something for everyone!

Requiem - Lauren Oliver - Delirium Series

OKAY what happened here???

Requiem (Delirium, #3)Requiem by Lauren Oliver

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Okay I give this 3 stars for being completely engaging like the first two books in the series.  The cliffhanger at the end of book 2 was epic.  The writing was vivid and beautiful and exactly what one would expect with Lauren Oliver's work...

NOW... Alex is back, Julian loves Lena.  There's a lot of action and the invalids and those in the wilds are trying to survive attacks and plan one as well!  I was completely engaged throughout the entire book and didn't want to put it down.  Then the end came and I kept going back and trying to find another page....

It ended unfinished in my opinion.  I was completely disappointed with the rushed out ending.  After everything Lauren Oliver put into this book the ending was just not good.  There's no closure with Julian, Alex, Hana, Raven, Grace, nothing.  We don't even know what happened!!!

I'm so mad at myself for reading this because it felt unfinished and now I feel like I need an extra chapter like this couldn't possibly be the real ending...

Defiance - Shelly Crane - Significance Series

Defiance (Significance, #3)Defiance by Shelly Crane

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Maggie broke out of her shell and Caleb...*sigh*

So this book was another fantastic addition!  Loved Maggie & Caleb, and the whole Jacobsen clan!  The characters develop more with each book.  We meet new characters, get new villains, and the plot thickens!

The entire book takes place at the big reunification ceremony!  Maggie is excited and soon finds out this isn't the party she's been hearing about.  Her powers grow and so does her amazing personality and sense of self.  Caleb is swoon-worthy as always and they face a lot of problems in this one.  More than usual.

There are so many bad guys and good guys and revelations.  The imprints start coming back.  Maggie gets to see who the past visionary was and Gran is her feisty self as always.

I wish I could have a family as well thought out and in love as the Jacobsens.  Amazing job Shelly Crane, I can't wait to read the final installment!

Accordance - Shelly Crane - Significance Series

Accordance (Significance, #2)Accordance by Shelly Crane

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars... Super awesome sequel!!!

I loved this sequel!!!  Maggie is such an awesome heroine and getting to know her more and her quirky family more was really fun.  There were so many twists and turns in this book and I will say this... a shocking surprise ending!!!

Caleb and Maggie are adorable in this series!  Maggie finds out how incredible her ability is and so does Caleb.  The imprints are starting to return.  There's a lot going on in this book and I love love love how the author puts an amazing amount of romance in along with the action!  It makes it that much more fun for us women to read!

I'm really excited to see what happens next with Lynne, Bish, Kyle, Jen, Caleb, Marla, Marcus, and of course Maggie!!!  I can't wait to find out what's going on with this unlikely bunch!

The character depth is amazing and they all really grow on you.  The books are super sappy but full of intense action.  There's just nothing negative to say about the series so far!

Significance - Shelly Crane

Significance (Significance, #1)Significance by Shelly Crane

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Great new twist to the paranormal genre, so far so good, I'd give it 4.5 stars!!!  Definitely off to an awesome start!!!

So, first off, if you are in the mood for a romance of the paranormal sorts this is for you!  Second when I heard "imprint" I obviously thought of werewolves and am happy to report there are none in this novel.

I read quite a variety of books and this one has been showing up on my amazon account for a long time saying I would enjoy it but for some reason I just always skimmed past it until I read about it in the Jingle All the YA book and knew instantly I wanted to read this...

Maggie is your main character, she has a mother who abandoned her and a father who is like a zombie since her mother left.  She has an adopted older brother who lives in New York.  She got dumped by her boyfriend senior year and the story starts off at her senior graduation!  A boy who has asked her out numerous times asks her yet again and she decides, why not???  So she makes plans with Kyle...

On her way to meet up with Kyle she sees a very good looking guy and saves his life.  This is Caleb... he's our hero.  They imprint on each other (no werewolves) and it means they are each other's "significant other" and she meets his quirky and fun family!  I loved Caleb's family!!!  I thought Kyle seemed a tad creepy...

There's action and drama but this is a book you read when you want also some mushy romance!  It's cute, not sexual or r rated, perfect for a teen or me *way past my teen years*....  I thought their chemistry was really great and I am definitely a fan can't wait to read book two!!!!

The Evolution of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkin

This book is crazy good... if you've read the first you need to read this as it will BLOW YOUR MIND!  Crazy conspiracies and all!!!

The Evolution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #2)The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Okay so what do I hate about trilogies???  I hate that the sequel never compares to the quality of book 1.  Dare I say that the sequel was even better than book one in this series???  :)))  So I reread the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer right before reading this so I would have a refresher...

This book starts at the end of book 1, literally.  Mara sees Jude in the police station at the end of the first book and this begins with her in a hospital waking up from sedation because of her "freak-out" at the police station.  Jude's obviously dead right?   She'd only been seeing him because of her crazy schizophrenic hallucinations, right???

Now... I LOVE that we finally receive some answers as to whether or not Mara is actually certifiably insane in this book!  Also, who doesn't love Noah Shaw?  I mean come on, his arrogant smirk is something I have a perfect vision of in my head.  His only weakness being Mara.

There's flashbacks and memory lapses, crazy dreams, crazy people (literally, the book takes place mainly in a psychiatric hospital), and there's even the famous return of one of my favorite characters from book one... Jamie Roth!!!  Yes that's right, Jamie is back!!!  Ever wonder where he ended up after Croyden?  You will find out in this book!

Mara is being tortured in this book, she spends most of it in and out of psych wards.  There is definitely still a lot of mystery as the author only gives you enough to force you to read more.  There's a wild cliffhanger ending that will make you want to flip invisible pages to find out what is going on!!!  Can't wait to read the finale and I know it will be utterly amazing as this book surpassed my expectations by a milestone!

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer - Michelle Hodkin - Round 2

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1)The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I reread this book being as how I had only remembered bits and pieces and saw that the sequel is out!  I read it in a day without skimming because it's that good...

I have no idea what my original review says it's posted below but here goes it:

Mara Dyer has it rough and her boyfriend is a total stud!  The book has some gore not your typical paranormal!  I'm so confused and psyched to see what happens in book 2... I'm starting that next!

Totally creepy and definitely not my typical read but here goes:

So I was going to rate this a solid 4 stars until the last paragraph which auto upped it to a 5.  This book was creepy and gave me goosebumps!  There was foul language which is fine by me because I'm not in the YA age group.  The book constantly had you wondering what was going on, what was real, what wasn't, and there was just so many disturbing parts to it.  This is absolutely NOT my typical type of book but after reading the free sample I decided to go for it.

I'm so glad I bought this, Mara Dyer is a very unique heroine.  She believes she's psychotic and has no idea what's wrong with her really.  She sees things, loses track of time, and when she pictures someone dying they die the same way she sees it.  Noah Shaw is a hero I instantly fell in love with.  He gives Mara so much attention and tries to tend to her every whim and need.  He puts up with all of her craziness.

I loved the family bond in this book too, Mara has a strong connection with her brothers and there is a lot of family involved in this read.  There's also craziness, action, and paragraphs that you will have to read two-three times and still wont be able to comprehend.  This book is complete brilliance at it's best!

I cannot wait to read what comes next... and I hope it's soon.  That was an amazing cliffhanger/game changing ending...

Indebted - Premonition Series - Amy Bartol

Indebted (The Premonition, #3)Indebted by Amy A. Bartol

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Everyone needs to read this series...  It's for all ages and is extremely captivating and addictive!

So I've gotten myself extremely invested in this series!  The majority of the book revolves around Brennus and Evie.  Evie is evolving and learning a lot in this addition as is Russell.

I'll start with what I missed in this book, the romance between Reed & Evie, when there was parts it was bittersweet, super romantic, and made my heart flutter.  But there just wasn't enough!  I also really missed Buns!  She just wasn't in this one enough!!!  There were parts of Buns though that made me laugh out loud while reading, she is easily one of my favorite characters!

So what did I like???  I am not sure if I like or hate that Brennus has seriously grown on my heartstrings.  I know this is Amy Bartol's intent and I feel mixed feelings very much like Evie did.  He was just really sweet and romantic and kind.  Ugh, I do not want to like him!!!

There were new enemies in this book!  There was a lot of major action!  Evie's powers have grown immensely and the world that Amy Bartol created is beautiful and the imagery is amazing.  I felt as if I was there with them throughout the entire book!  I have really become attached to this series and Amy Bartol is definitely going places, her writing is amazing and this series is completely addictive.  The books just keep getting better and the plot thickens with each one!

Starting book 4 today I hope, as long as I find the time!  :)

Intuition - Premonition Series - Amy Bartol

Intuition (The Premonition, #2)Intuition by Amy A. Bartol

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is quickly becoming one of my new favorite series!!!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE these characters.  There's only one thing I missed and it was the smart-ass from the beginning of the series the Evie I fell in love with the first chapter of the first book.  She changes a lot and I do believe that she still has some snark but that the author has her character mature and change into a person who cares deeply and loves for others and is less of the immature snarky kid we first met.  But those comments from Freddie and Evie or Evie and Uncle Jim always had me giggling...  Even though I'm well past YA.

So let's see, the "villain" in this one was pretty cool.  I kind of like him and can't wait to see what comes next.  I missed the romance between Reed & Evie as it wasn't there as much but what was there made up for it!  I loved Brennus in a love/hate relationship type of way.  Russell really grows into his character and I think I'd give up a bit of my soul for him too!!

So this book is completely full of action, morbid romance, romantic romance, surprises, and keeps you wanting more!  I think I've officially become an addict of the series!  Will be starting book 3 tonight...  Can't wait to see more Zee, Buns, Russell, Brownie, Evie, and the amazing Reed...  I'm so excited to see what's next.  And does anyone else love Buns as much as I do???  :D

Great sequel, in my opinion the sequel always makes or breaks a series!~

Inescapable - Amy Bartol - Premonition Series

Inescapable (The Premonition, #1)Inescapable by Amy A. Bartol

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

No idea why I never read this sooner!  It was an OMG I can't stop thinking about the characters and what's going on so I MUST KEEP READING type of book!!!

I've seen this pop up on my recommended reading numerous times and decided to try it out.  That was yesterday and I just finished the book and am ready to start number 2.

First off, the main character rocks.  Her name is Evie and she is probably the sweetest heroine I've ever read about.  Completely amazing character depth and she is completely self-sacrificing.  She is also independent, real, loving, I just can't even describe how much I liked her character.

The love interests: Russell and Reed... I love them both.  I really do.  They are both totally amazing guys and I just wish I could have one of them!

Buns and Brownie: OMG I loved these two!!!  They were the best "clique" I've read in awhile and so fun!

There were so many surprises and wow factors to this book too!

The plot was crazy and full of depth and I am completely psyched to read the next one!  I am so disappointed I didn't discover the series sooner because I think I'm head over heels for this whole premonition series!  I hear that the second book is better than the first so it's time for a glass of good wine and a hot bubble bath so I can find out!

More from me soon...
Def check out this series!!!  It rocks!!!

Amy Bartol... I AM your newest big fan!

TASTE - Kate Evangelista

TasteTaste by Kate Evangelista

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I LOVE TASTE, Kate Evangelista is a hot new author in my opinion!!!

It's not often a book leaves me speechless but that's what Taste has done.  I found myself wanting to read it late into the night and unable to put it down during the day.

It starts with Phoenix McKay falling asleep in a library and uncovering "night students" who talk about eating flesh.  Of course a handsome powerful stranger gets her to safety and she becomes obsessed with finding out more about the "night students."  Phoenix is a lonely girl so she figured this would help take up some time.

This ISN'T A VAMPIRE OR WEREWOLF book... which I'm grateful for because I needed a break from that.  There were a couple of swoony guys in the book and of course a mad scientist who had me smiling at his craziness.  There were twists, surprises, lots of action scenes, royalty, grossness, gossip, snooping, and just the right amount of romance mixed in.

Most books like this are parts of sagas and it was nice seeing it all wrapped up in one book, only problem is, this is one of the few books I've liked enough to read a series!!!

Definitely the type of book you wont put down... left me wishing I could be Phoenix McKay for a day!  I can't wait to see what else this author has coming out in the future!!!

V is for Virgin - Kelly Oram

V is for VirginV is for Virgin by Kelly Oram

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Starts out strong and then turns predictable with a side of cheese!

I would give it 2.5 stars because it sucked me in and I read half of it.  By the middle of this book I knew what would ultimately happen for the most part and decided to skim the second half in about five minutes.  It turns out as expected it just took a few years for it to happen instead of a few months like typical YA books.

Valerie decides to jump on the table and declare she's a virgin when her boyfriend dumps her (for wanting to stay a virgin) and then he tells everyone he dumped her because she is bad in bed.  She gets the attention of a rock star who wants to take her virginity and she starts a line of jewelry called V is for Virgin.

She becomes a success, dates a  nice boy, and at the end the bad boy changes his ways.  Maybe would've been better for a younger audience.  I would say 13-17 year olds may enjoy this.

Ember - Jessica Sorensen

Definitely my top read of the year... buy this book, it's 99 cents!!!

Ember (Death Collectors, #1)Ember by Jessica Sorensen

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of the books!!! You are unsure of it and start reading and the writing style and concept sucks you in so completely that you literally can't put it down.  I started it last night and finished this morning.

Ember is a very unique and special human being and she doesn't really know it, all she knows is she's cursed, everyone in town hates her with the exception of her best friend Raven and her brother Ian.

When two new kids show up at school the same week that seem to hate each other but claim not to know each other and both want to date Ember obviously you think typical love triangle cliche that you've read thousands of times.

This one is different, the concept of the story is what captivates you.  The ending isn't even happy it's cryptic.  The book is dark but amazing.  I honestly didn't know which guy was good and which one wasn't.  I just had my guesses.

I've rarely bought any of the cheaper books on here and lately I've been reading quite a few, hands down this was my favorite and I will be adding all of her books to my queue and I CANNOT wait for number 2 of the Death Collectors comes out...

Just wow.  Read this, it's my first 5 star review of the year!!!

Jingle All The YA - Multiple Authors

Jingle all the YA (Sample 14 Bestselling YA Books)Jingle all the YA by Tiffany King

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Amazingly cool concept!

So the concept of this book is genius, samples of 10 YA books packed into one for free???  You can choose what you like and purchase it or skip through what you don't like.

I purchased this because it had Chelsea Fine's Avow in it which is one of my favorite books so I figured there has to be some other good ones in here too, right?

It was kind of like finding a diamond in the rough, I decided 2 books I would want to read from it, one I would never look at due to it's morbid cover - Ember - which turned out to be a can't put down best .99 cent book I've ever read!

And Significance which I've seen but never looked at.  I am assuming I will read it soon.  Nothing else interested me but 3 out of 10 isn't too bad!

There are 1-4 chapters of each book from 10 different authors and this really helps you get a feel for their writing and if it's something you'd even want to buy.  I think there should be WAY more books like this available!

Toxic - Jus Accardo - A Denzazen Novel

Toxic (Denazen, #2)Toxic by Jus Accardo

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoy the work of Jus Accardo.  Touch was pretty much amazing and Toxic comes with a major twist!!!  You will hate characters and be green with jealous and envy of Jade (especially if you've fallen for Kale like most of us).  There will be surprises, action, kidnappings, twists, betrayals, flirting, fighting, and of course no book would be complete without the famous CLIFFHANGER ENDING!

I'm really excited for book 3 because I want to see where it starts out, what's happened to Dez and Kale... I just don't know how I'm going to wait!

HOLY Cliffhanger! Opal - Lux Series - Jennifer L. Armentrout

Opal (Lux, #3)Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I went into this thinking it was the last book and I kept going, this isn't good enough to be the last book.  Then it slowly started getting better and better.  This book leaves you with the mother of all cliffhangers, I'm talking definitely one of my top 5 cliffhangers so I eagerly searched google to find out that Origin (#4 in the Lux series) will be out July 2013!!!  I am so excited I doubt I can wait that long to see what happens with Katy and Daemon!!!  And Beth and Dawson!!!  This book was incredibly well written just what you would expect from Jennifer L. Armentrout!

There is so much going on, Will comes back!  Dawson comes back and is in search of Beth!  Blake makes a surprise recurring (and creepy) role, Dee and Katy start to work out their problems!  There's so many surprises, tons of action, LOTS of steamy romance, and of course the biggest cliffhanger ever!

Come on July 2013!!!
