Hold My Heart - Esther M. Soto

Hold My Heart (The Heart Series #1)Hold My Heart by Esther M. Soto

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow this book did something most books rarely do... left me begging for more. I want the next book and I want it now!!! This was incredibly well written. What a story! I absolutely loved the different elements in this story as well as how unique and real each character was. My favorite part was how everything tied together in such an unexpected way... As if Esther sewed the storylines and pieces you may have found insignificant into such an intricate way that everything made sense. Just perfect... now where's my copy of book two???

Kyland - Mia Sheridan

KylandKyland by Mia Sheridan

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another amazing Mia Sheridan but what else can you expect at this point?  Really great story!  Kyland is hard not to fall for.  I really loved the relationship with him and Tenleigh.

The town they live in is unfortunate and poor to say the least.  These two main characters are in competition for a scholarship to leave town.  Tenleigh's mother is very sick (mentally).  Kyland is Tenleigh's escape until she can leave town.  They have a strong bond and the story is touching.

The thing that had me, was the description.  Reading the blurb on this story and I instantly wanted more.  I was not let down.  This is another amazing piece by an amazing author!

Archer's Voice - Mia Sheridan

Archer's VoiceArcher's Voice by Mia Sheridan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can I just say OMG I think this is my new favorite book.  My book hangover is huge and I just want to read it again and again.  Amazing story absolutely beautiful, I don't know what to read next.  Will review more thoroughly when my mind has time to process.

This book is brilliant.  I fell in love with Archer Hale from the very beginning as a small boy.  I felt a deep connection to Bree, she's easy to relate to.  The storyline is fast-paced and easy to follow.  I really loved being inside Mia Sheridan's world and have no idea how she will ever compete with this beautiful book.

Bright Side - Kim Holden

Bright Side (Bright Side, #1)Bright Side by Kim Holden

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book may not be the most realistic but here's my opinion, I wish everyone was more like Kate.  Her personality was something we should all strive for.  I know I would love to be more like Kate.  I think the book was incredible, I was prepared to be sad but I wasn't prepared for how many surprising twists and turns there would be along the way.  Kate was an amazing character, all the other characters were great, I felt strongly for each one as Kim Holden's storytelling is in a league of it's own.  I cannot wait to read Gus's story next.

Amber Smoke - Kristin Cast

Amber Smoke (The Escaped #1)Amber Smoke by Kristin Cast

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was really excited to read this, I have not read Kristin Cast before but love NA as well as paranormal and mythology.  I have a thing for furies!  So the beginning of the book was excellent and held a lot of promise.  I would have been really interested in the relationship between the fury and the prisoner.  However, once Alek was of age and looking for Eva the story started to drag out.  The characters were underdeveloped.  I did not feel any sort of connection to them in the same way I felt towards the furies who were more developed.  I saw this book as too juvenile to be New Adult.  I would consider it more Young Adult.  I will say that the book is fairly short and I finished it really quickly.

I give it 2 1/2 stars and will round up because the beginning was really good and I enjoyed the first half the book.

Amour Amour - Krista Ritchie & Becca Ritchie

Amour AmourAmour Amour by Krista Ritchie

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed the story of Thora and Nik!  I enjoyed her inner voice even though her mind was pretty chaotic with thoughts!  I thought that the secondary characters were really well developed for instance Timo and Greg were fantastic! Their banter was so easy to picture.  I thought all the characters were well developed to be honest.  There was enough *hot* moments for me as well, the chemistry between Nik and Thora was really enjoyable to read.  I loved the rawness of what she decided to do and the beauty in the training sessions.  I really enjoyed this story and read it in a little over a day!  It was mesmerizing, graceful, and fun.  Really fantastic story and I look forward to reading other books by Krista & Becca Ritchie!

Winter - Frankie Rose (Four Seasons)

Winter (Four Seasons #1)Winter by Frankie Rose

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a good book but there's a lot of unnecessary storyline, added plots, etc.  I thought the twists were good, I found myself going AHA several times.  Luke was a good character to fall for.  Just a lot going on in the story that wasn't needed.  The story wrapped up beautifully and most questions were answered in the end....

Part-Time Princess (Ladies in Waiting #1) - Pamela Dumond

Part-time Princess (Ladies in Waiting, #1)Part-time Princess by Pamela DuMond

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book!  It's a "feel-good" book and brings you back to the days you imagined anything was possible even fairy tales.  I love how this book is for adults, I figured it would be more juvenile but the main character is a waitress at a bar who is hired to impersonate someone famous in another country.  I loved Lucy and her ladies-in-waiting, they all had such unique and loud personalities and they were fun.  Their friendship was completely believable, I know my friends would have my back like that in a second.  I also giggled like a school girl at the ending... I love how close the girls were and it was totally fluffy and make believe but in a believable way, if that's a possibility?

But really good I'm anxious to see what the other ladies in waiting books will entail, if they will be about a different girl or Lucy... I would love to learn more about Esmeralda as she was HILARIOUS.  :)

I did get this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

The Five Stages of Falling in Love by Rachel Higginson

The Five Stages of Falling in LoveThe Five Stages of Falling in Love by Rachel Higginson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book tore me to pieces, I got so incredibly emotional reading this.  My heart broke for Liz, my heart broke for Ben.  My heart broke for the kids.  It was definitely real and raw, it's an emotional ride.  I will say that Rachel Higginson put my heart back together in a way that was acceptable but this book was so unique to anything I've read that I just really enjoyed it.  My first read by her and I'll definitely be looking into more... My only wish was that this book had been longer.  I wanted more towards the end, I wont spoil it but I definitely would have liked an extra chapter or three towards the end.

The Mason List - S.D. Hendrickson

The Mason ListThe Mason List by S.D. Hendrickson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Revised:

This book gave me so many feelings!

Absolutely beautiful coming of age story.  These are quickly becoming a new favorite for me and this story does not disappoint.  Jessup Mason is an amazing book boyfriend and the story is told with such beauty, depth, rawness, and emotion that you really feel a strong connection to the characters (Alex & Jess).  The story ties together in an artistically beautiful way.  I shed some tears, I held my breath, I laughed.  I love how real this book feels, it's easy to connect to Sprayberry and the Mason's.  100% recommend this book!  Great read!...

Dorianna - Catherine Stine

DoriannaDorianna by Catherine Stine

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Received from NetGalley for an honest review...

I read this book fairly fast, I found myself skimming parts.  The story flows really well and the writing is excellent.  I found the "powers" confusing.  I do understand the book is supposed to be superficial and show how far one will go for popularity and fame.  I was pretty excited to read this especially being a YA Dorian Gray.  I was turned off by most of the characters and did not feel a connection to Dorianna at all.  (I liked Bailey!)  I think this book WILL strongly appeal to teenagers especially with social media and popularity being the theme, which is the YA market.  Personally, for adults who read YA I did not feel this was for me even a little bit.  I would still recommend others read it and decide for themselves and I would really recommend this for the YA genre it is marketed for.  I could easily picture my friends siblings reading this.

Rules of Survival - Jus Accardo

Rules of SurvivalRules of Survival by Jus Accardo

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book.  The content was light and it was a fun and fast read.  The chemistry between the main characters was cute, I enjoyed the twists as they came.  I thought the concept of bounty hunter and girl on the run for murder being shackled together was unique and Jus Accardo is a great storyteller so the story flowed really well and tied up nicely in the end!

Up For Grabs - Heather Young Nichols

Up For GrabsUp For Grabs by Heather Young-Nichols

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a quick read, in fact I started it and didn't put it down until I was finished (2 AM)... If you are looking for a fairly happy book with a dreamy, swoon worthy, perfect guy then this is the book for you.  Flannery was a really fun heroine with quick wit and a smart mouth.  I expected more drama from reading the blurb but this is a fairly happy feel-good book.  I really enjoyed spending a few hours with Cain and Flannery.  The secondary characters were really well developed and you couldn't help but want to be a part of their inner circle.

The Traveling Man - Jane Harvey-Berrick

The Traveling Man (The Traveling Duet, #1)The Traveling Man by Jane Harvey-Berrick

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, this book was incredible.  I don't even know what to do with my life while I wait for the next book... The carnival world that Jane Harvey-Berrick built was absolutely mesmerizing and magical.  I fell in love with Aimee and Kes when they were only 10.  This book is really well written and will draw you in from the beginning.  I felt so many emotions reading this.

Whispers in the Dark - Chase Jackson

Whispers in the DarkWhispers in the Dark by Chase J Jackson

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I love paranormal.  I devour it.  There was a great idea behind this book and it is unique in it's storyline but I felt Mr. Ramirez and his friends and Lea were very YA, they felt more like high schoolers than adults.  I think the story would have been better suited for a YA audience with the main character being either Raven or Robin.  (That would have been a 5 star book for me, I love YA and I think Raven and Robin would've made better "lead" characters).  Mr. Ramirez seemed really juvenile by ignoring his girlfriend to go out getting hammered with his friends all the time when she really moved from Miami to Georgia for him and asked him to spend more time with her.  The story was incredibly rushed as well and I found that I read it easily in a very short amount of time.  I would've appreciated more depth and details as it was incredibly basic.

The book got better around the 85% mark.  The twists were really intense and I enjoyed the surprises.  I feel this book would really benefit from being just slightly longer and more detailed.  I read it in about 2 hours.

I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
